HIRING OF 1000 LINEMEN ON CONTRACT BASIS

 Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. is intends to hire 1000 Linemen purely on contract basis from the candidates who have completed 2 years Apprenticeship in the trade of Lineman in PSPCL / PSTCL (erstwhile PSEB) and have been issued National Apprenticeship Certificate for the same, under National Apprenticeship Act 1961.Details given below;

 1. Name of the post : Lineman on contract 

 2. No. of posts : 1000 (Tentative) 

 3. Emoluments : Rs. 10,000/- lumpsum per month . 

 QUALIFICATION: The candidates should meet with the following qualifications: i) Matriculation or equivalent qualification and National Apprenticeship Certificate in Lineman Trade. ii) The candidates who possess higher education as Degree /Diploma in Electrical Engineering pass will be considered only if they have minimum qualifications as National Apprenticeship Certificate in Lineman Trade. iii) The candidates who passed successfully National Apprenticeship Training Certificate in the trade of Lineman. iv) The candidates must have done 2 years Apprenticeship in PSPCL/ PSTCL or erstwhile PSEB.

 KNOWLEDGE OF PUNJABI: The candidates must have passed Punjabi atleast upto Matric Standard with one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language, which may be specified by the Government from time to time on or before the last date of submission of Application Forms i.e. 16.1.2014.

AGE LIMIT: 18 to 39 years as on 1.1.2014 ( Only in the instant advertisement for candidates in lieu of their having done two years apprenticeship). Upper age limit is relaxable as admissible under rules/ instructions of PSPCL / Punjab Govt.

RELAXATION IN AGE LIMIT: Upper age limit is relaxable as admissible under rules/ instructions of PSPCL/ Punjab Government. Relaxation in age in different categories as given below:

 a SC/ST and Backward class: 5 years over & above the normal recruitment age.

 b. Ex-Serviceman: To the extent of service rendered in Armed Forces of Union of India subject to usual terms and conditions.

 c. Physically Handicapped: 10 years over and above the normal recruitment age.

d .In case of the following, the upper age limit shall be 40 years subject to the condition that the candidate is meeting other eligibility criteria for the post.;

  i. Widows; ii. Women who are legally Separated from their husbands or have been divorced; iii. Women whose husbands have been ordered by Civil or Criminal courts to pay maintenance to them; iv. Women who have because of their desertion, been living separately from their husbands for more than two years. v. Women whose husbands have re-married; and vi. Wives of the serving military personnel and wives of those who are disabled while in Military service.
